Why Your Course Needs an E-Book

Writing an e-book isn’t easy, and the amount of time it takes to research and structure a book can put off some people.

Here’s the good news: you can always get someone to do it for you!

The bad news: it might take time and effort, but it’s necessary! Writing an e-book gives you the opportunity to establish yourself as an expert in your industry. While a course can also do that, an e-book becomes a small part of your brand that your audience carries around with them on their phones and tablets. They can access it without an internet connection, and you can use it to push your course as well!

It certainly requires more dedication than a blog post, but it does a better job of covering niche topics.

Here are 4 reasons you should consider adding an e-book to your list of additional resources for your course!

1. Increase traffic

A free e-book that covers the most important topics in your industry drives traffic to your website, where they can find more information on your online course.

The great thing about e-books is you can use links! You can use this tool to link to different landing pages so your readers can learn more about you and your brand.

2. Generate leads

You have 2 types of audiences; one that wants to learn how to execute something and one that wants you to execute it for them.

I could teach a course on writing an e-book, and my viewers will either pick up on my points and do it themselves or hire me to ghostwrite their books.

And you’re making e-books for the second type. When you offer something as valuable as that, you can ask for something in return, i.e: their email addresses. You can build your email list and provide new, relevant info concerning your industry, and give an update on the services you provide that offer a solution to those problems.

3. Get content ideas

An e-book is essentially a content bank! You can repurpose information from here and turn them into blog posts, reels, or YouTube videos (whatever makes the most sense for your brand!).

Each chapter in the book can become a deep-dive video series, or become a blog post that leads people to buy your course.

4. Cost-effective option for your followers

Your followers might not be able to afford your entire course, but they still want access to some information. If your course is going at $1000 and a watered-down version of it is going for $14.99, your followers will appreciate you still providing education that doesn’t break the bank.

Besides, if the information is valuable enough, it might entice your followers to invest $1000 in your course!

5. Sell without selling

E-books are a great way to tell people how you used your expertise to deal with a problem. For example, if you’re selling a course on digital marketing, you can use the e-book to give case studies of how you took a small business from 0 customers to 500 customers.

This demonstrates your skill without being too in-your-face, and it tells people what will be possible if they invest in your course!
